The Swim Team Parents Association (STPA) manages Jersey Storm Swimming administration. The STPA is made up of the parents of each swimmer on the team. For each swimmer that joins the team, the swimmer's parents automatically become members (and owners) of the STPA and inherit with that membership the responsibility to participate and support the activities of the team and club.
The STPA, as owners of Jersey Storm Swimming, elects a Board of Directors to oversee the programs and performance of the team's business. The Board of Directors is composed of nine members of the STPA who are elected on a rotating basis to serve two-year terms. They are charged with the ultimately responsibility of directing the business and financial affairs of the STPA and supervising the management of the team. The Board meets once per month as a minimum to perform its duties. The STPA hires coaches who have the responsibility of coaching and developing the swim team. The following positions make up the STPA board: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, four members-at-large and parent liaison. There are also several committees that assist the board in managing the team; the committees are made up of volunteers from the entire STPA. All parents are expected to contribute to the various activities that the STPA has planned throughout the year. Organized committees handle all activities and they need your help. You are asked to participate as the season gets underway. |
