Middle Atlantic Short
Course Senior Champs Recap – 3/20 to 3/22
Week Two of
Championships produced dramatic results!!
There must have been
something magical in the water at the Gram Aquatics Center in York,
PA because Jersey Storm’s senior group exceeded
expectations.
Highlights of the meet
included:
-
Kelsi Worrell earned top honors at the meet earning the
High Point award (108pts). She also set team records in
the 50 Free (24.06), 100 Free (52.03), 200 Free (1:53.51), 100 Back

& 200 IM (2:07.86).
-
Julia England won back Batman (and wonder pig) for her courageous
performance in the 200 Breaststroke and 400 Medley Relay. For those who are wondering Batman (and
wonder pig) is a senior group award for outstanding effort or
determination.
-
The female 400 Medley Relay and 800 Free relay qualified for Region
2 Sectionals with Jersey Storm team records. Participants in the
relays included: Danielle Caruso, Amanda Osterlind, Shelby Witham,
Kelsi Worrell, & Taylor Worrell.
-
Taylor Worrell established a new record for the 11-12 200 Fly with
a swim at finals of 2:22.49. Taylor
also established 11-12 records in the 1000 (11:22.56) & 1650
(18:41.35).
-
Jersey Storm swimmers encouraged and cheered their teammates (and
NRG swimmers – of course) on the entire weekend. If there was a spirit award Storm Coach Amy, Coach
Michelle from NRG and I agreed we would certainly have been in the
top 2!
-
Jersey Storm, being one the smaller teams at the meet, did not go
unnoticed in the volunteer department either. Our parents stepped up in a major way in helping
the meet run smoothly. Congrats to each
of the families who made Storm look good!!
Thank you to everyone
who participated!
